We
have a brand new LS-6 454 for sale if you might be interested in this engine
for the 'Vette. Here is a description:

LS-6, 454 CRATE MOTOR, NEW, NEVER RUN.

Brand new, never run, never installed, GM LS-6 crate motor. This engine has
been discontinued and unavailable new from GM for about 15 years. All LS-6
engines are 4 bolt main, forged crankshaft, 7/16 rods, forged pistons,
square port heads, aluminum intake manifold (Holley pattern). At the time
that they were in production they sold for $3,800 USD, and were not reliably
assembled (unlike today?s crate motors). It was normal to take apart these
LS-6 crate motors to check for cracks and assembly problems.

This engine has been disassembled, magnufluxed and cleaned. Everything has
been checked and is OK. All the following mentioned parts are all brand
new, never been run or started.

While apart, this engine was pocket ported and port matched, also the intake
manifold was port matched and slightly 'cleaned up' (blueprinted) inside.
All work is professionally done.

The engine has been balanced. The pistons used are brand new TRW
aftermarket forged pistons. The OEM pistons also come with this engine (16
pistons total). The OEM pistons were forged and made by TRW, but are not as
good quality as the aftermarket pistons, so the aftermarket pistons are
installed on the rods and balanced.

The engine includes a new Crane hydraulic cam & Hi Intensity hydraulic
lifters (like Rhoades type lifters). The OEM original solid camshaft and
solid lifters also come with this engine. The matching Crane springs and
retainers are installed on the heads. Crane cam is # 134241 and lifters
99377-16 (.534/.553' lift, 226/236* duration @ .050, 112 centerline). The
Crane book says '2500-6000 RPM'. So 2 new cams and 2 sets of new lifters
are included with this package (stock LS-6 and the Crane parts).

Everything needed to assemble the engine is included too?.Sealed Power moly
rings, Sealed Power rod, main, and camshaft bearings, Fel Pro High
Performance gaskets, Cloyes true-roller timing chain (the stock LS-6 came
with the plastic normal timing gear and chain?.these parts have been
removed!). All bolts are included, AND also included are about $200.00
worth of new ARP bolts for this engine.

Included with the engine package is a new TCI flexplate, SFI rated. This is
also balanced with the engine.

Here?s all the casting #?s and part #?s that I could find. I?m happy to
look for more if you ask. Block 14015445 K208; Crank 3967412; Heads
6272990; Pistons L2465F-std; Cam 144; Water pump 6263707; Intake manifold
3933163; Balancer 3963532; Cloyes timing set 9-3110; Sealed Power #?s are:
E233Kstd, 2829pstd, 743pstd, 616s; ARP #?s are: 430-1702, 430-3101,
430-3301, 430-3201, 430-7401, 430-3503, 430-3505, 400-1412, 400-1401,
230-7002, 230-7503, 300-1001; extra Crane cam & lifters, 134241, 99377-16;
TCI flexplate, 399554. There is no engine serial # on this block (because
it was a crate motor). The engine # pad is blank.

The engine at this time is unassembled. Cost for professional assembly is +
$600.00.

This crate engine did NOT include : distributor, pulleys, carb, starter,
headers, spark plugs, plug wires.

if you like). Only one engine is available at this price.
